Abstract: Entrepreneurship promotion is vital for a country’s socio-economic development. Entrepreneurs, as founders and decision-makers, play a decisive role in the success of a business by determining its growth strategy. This study aimed to investigate risk attitudes of Vietnamese entrepreneurs and other related factors. To explore this, the study used the Big five model, optimism, and pessimism as independent variables, with risk attitude as the dependent variable. The research method is quantitative with a sample of 167 entrepreneurs. Structural Equation Modeling was employed to test the hypotheses. The study found a positive relationship between extraversion and risk attitudes; and the negative connections between conscientiousness, agreeableness, pessimism, and risk attitudes. Furthermore, the study revealed no significant relationships between openness, neuroticism, optimism, and risk attitudes. The results shed light on understanding about the entrepreneurs’risk attitudes. |
